PM Awas Yojana 2.0: Now every Homeless will have a house, know how to apply
The second phase of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, PM Awas Yojana 2.0, has now been launched. Its aim is to provide homes to poor and middle class families.
This scheme focuses on providing affordable and permanent housing not only to the BPL class but also to the people of the middle income group (MIG). Gurugram Municipal Corporation has announced to start the application process soon under this scheme.
PM Awas Yojana 2.0: Who can apply?
Under the scheme, the following people can apply:
Families of BPL class: Whose income is below the poverty line.
EWS (economically weaker section): Whose annual income is less than Rs. 3 lakh.
MIG (middle income group): Whose income is between Rs. 3 lakh to Rs. 18 lakh.
People without pucca houses: Who do not have permanent housing anywhere in the country.
People requiring affordable rental: migrant workers, industrial workers, working women, students, and the homeless.
How to apply?
Online application process:
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana 2.0 has to be applied on the central government portal.
The applicant’s Aadhaar card must be linked to the mobile number.
After applying, the Municipal Corporation team will go to the ground and verify the information.
Portal guidelines:
The application will be canceled if wrong information is found.
OTP verification is mandatory for application.
Four components of benefits under PM Awas Yojana 2.0
Beneficiary Based Construction (BLC):
EWS category families will be given lease to build houses on their land.
Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP):
Affordable housing built by government and private entities will be allotted to the EWS category.
Affordable Rental Housing (ARH):
Urban migrants, working women, students, and the homeless will be given affordable rental housing.
Interest Subsidy Scheme (ISS):
Interest subsidy of up to Rs.1.80 lakh will be available on home loan.
