PM Awas Yojana: Thousands of Beneficiaries in Gopalganj will get the first installment, Rs 40,000 will come in the account
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), the process of providing housing to 5,955 beneficiaries in 14 blocks of Gopalganj district is underway. Under the scheme, each beneficiary will be given financial assistance of Rs 1.20 lakh in three installments. So far, Rs 40,000 has been sent to the accounts of 1,479 beneficiaries as the first installment.
Most beneficiaries in Kuchaykot
The first installment is being distributed to the beneficiaries for housing construction in all the blocks of the district.
The maximum number of 231 beneficiaries have received the first installment in Kuchaykot block.
The amount has been sent to the least number of 33 beneficiaries in Panchdevri block.

Benefits and Process of the Scheme
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), financial assistance is provided to the beneficiaries for housing construction.
Assistance in three installments:
First installment for foundation construction: Rs.40,000.
Second installment after lintel construction.
Third installment on completion of housing.
Toilet construction:
There is also a provision for toilet construction along with housing, for which a separate amount is given.
Geo tagging:
Geo tagging work of all 5,955 beneficiaries has been completed.
This process is done to ensure the authenticity of the beneficiaries.
Target of the current financial year
The target is to provide housing to 5,955 beneficiaries in the district.
So far, the first installment has been provided to 1,469 people.
The amount will also be transferred to the remaining beneficiaries soon.
