NTA Releases the Date of UGC NET 2024; Candidates Can Write the Exam in Three Slots, Check Details Here
The exam was scheduled to be held from June 25 to June 27 but was postponed due to logistical constraints.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) recently released the exam centre notification slips for the CSIR-UGC NET Joint Examination 2024.
Candidates can download these notification slips from the official website by entering their application number and date of birth.
The exam is scheduled to be held from July 25 to July 27, 2024, from 9 am to 12 noon and some papers from 3 pm to 6 pm.
The revised schedule includes Earth, Atmospheric, Oceanic and Planetary Sciences and Physical Sciences exams on July 25, Mathematical Sciences exam on July 25, Life Sciences exam on July 26 and Chemical Sciences exam on July 27. The exam was scheduled to be held from June 25 to June 27 but was postponed.
The NTA announced that the exams were postponed due to unavoidable circumstances and logistical issues, adding that the new exam dates will be announced later on the official website.
Last month, the Education Ministry cancelled the UGC-NET exams based on the opinion of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), which indicated that the “integrity of the exams may have been compromised”.
The Education Ministry said in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that the matter has been referred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for investigation.
“Soon after the UGC-NET question paper on the dark web matched the original question paper of the UGC-NET, we decided to cancel the exams. We take responsibility and have to correct the system,” said Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
The Joint CSIR UGC NET is an ongoing test to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) and Lecturer (LS)/Assistant Professor posts in Indian universities and colleges, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria prescribed by the UGC.
