Get Now in New Zealand Post Study Work Visa even after doing PG Diploma, Government announced new rule
New Zealand has recently changed the rules of its Post Study Work Visa (PSWV), which has made it even easier for foreign students, especially Indian students, to work after their studies.
New Zealand’s new rules
Now students doing Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) for 30 weeks, if they take direct admission in Master’s degree, they will be eligible for Post Study Work Visa.
Earlier it was a rule that students were required to take direct admission for Master’s degree after Postgraduate Diploma, but now it is not so.
If a student completed Postgraduate Diploma and then took admission in Master’s degree, then that student can now apply for Post Study Work Visa, even if he has studied for less than 30 weeks in Master’s degree.
Eligibility for Visa
Students should note that to obtain a 3-year post study work visa, they must study full-time for at least 30 weeks, or enroll in a master’s degree.
If the student has not completed the required time limit as per the visa, they can apply for a PSWV within 12 months before the expiry date of their student visa, provided they apply based on the course they have already completed.
Conclusion
This new policy of New Zealand gives additional flexibility to foreign students and ensures that they get good opportunities to work after their studies. This decision will not only help students get employment, but New Zealand will also benefit from more talented and capable working professionals.
