- All states will have to release the list of approved teacher posts within three weeks.
- The selection process will have to be published in two major newspapers and on the website of the Education Department.
- A selection committee will be formed to recruit qualified teachers.
- Temporary teachers from 20 years will be made permanent on the basis of merit.
- All states will have to follow these orders within 12 weeks.
How many posts will be recruited?
The states are yet to decide the approved number of teachers, but this recruitment can be done on thousands of posts. According to the order of the Supreme Court, whatever posts are vacant, their notification will be issued immediately.

- West Bengal- 1,35,796
- Kerala- 1,20,764

What changes will be made in the recruitment process?
- Temporary teachers will be made permanent on the basis of their service period and qualification.
