National Defence Academy (NDA) or Naval Academy (NA) Exam
If you have passed 12th then you can give NDA/NA exam, because it is very important to pass 12th for this and this exam is conducted twice a year where you can join the Indian Army, Air Force or Indian Navy after NDA. This exam is conducted by UPSC.
For this exam, the age of the candidate should be between 16.5 years to 19.5 years. If candidates want to join Navy or Air Force, then it is mandatory for them to pass 10+2 in Physics and Mathematics. Both male and female candidates can apply for this army job.
For this, the written exam pattern includes a mathematics test of 300 marks and a general aptitude test of 600 marks. Selected candidates have to undergo a 5-day interview process for physical and manual examination and after that the selected candidates are sent to the next round.
Selected candidates are given training for 3 years at the National Defense Academy in Pune. After this, the candidates are given special training in the respective service academy and finally the candidates become commissioned officers.
Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT)

For those candidates who dream of joining the Navy, there is Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant Exam, after passing which the candidate can join environmental protection and exploration, maritime security and security missions.
The age of the candidate for Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant Exam should be between 20 years to 24 years. For general duty, the candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and physics, while to work in the technical branch, it is mandatory to have an engineering degree.
Both male and female candidates can apply online for this exam. The preliminary selection process of this exam consists of a screening test including mental fitness and picture perception of the candidate followed by a final selection board consisting of interview, group discussion/tasks, mental fitness test and medical checkup etc.

This Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) Assistant Commandant Exam is for those candidates who want to become Assistant Commandant by joining ITBP, CRPF, BSF, CISF, SSB and other forces. To appear in this exam, the candidate must have at least a bachelor’s degree.
The age of the candidate should be between 20 years to 25 years for this exam and both male and female candidates can apply for this exam.
In its exam pattern, in the written exam – Paper 1 is a test of general aptitude and intelligence of 250 marks and Paper 2 is a test of general studies, essay and comprehension of 200 marks.
In the physical and medical training test, your physical standard and stamina are tested. During the interview, the candidate has to pass a test of 150 marks.

Combined Defense Services (CDS) Exam
CDS i.e. Joint Defense Services is conducted by UPSC and under this, candidates are selected for various types of armed forces. The age of the candidate should be between 19 years to 25 years for this exam.
It is mandatory to have a bachelor’s degree to join the army, engineering to join the navy and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and physics or engineering for Air force. Only male candidates can apply for IMA (Indian Military Academy), INA (Indian Naval Academy) and AFA (Air Force Academy) and both male and female candidates can apply for OTA.
In its exam pattern, there is a 300 marks exam in English, general knowledge and mathematics for INA/IMA and AFA. Whereas in OTA there is a 200 marks exam in general knowledge and mathematics. For SSB interview, the candidate has to appear for 5 days of physical fitness, mental fitness and personality tests.
After receiving training from the respective academies, the successful candidates are appointed as Army Officers in the Indian Army, Navy or Air Force.
