CUET UG Timetable Remains Unaffected by Lok Sabha Election Dates, According to the UGC Chief
Prospective CUET-UG candidates are advised to finalize their registrations by March 26.
UGC Chairperson Jagadesh Kumar held a press conference on April 13 and said that the CUET-UG schedule from May 15 to May 30 is firm and there is no scope for any possible changes, even though it falls in the Lok Sabha election period.
He added further that the dates of CUET-UG from May 15 to May 31 would be decided and announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA) based on the registration numbers and geographical spread of candidates.
The Election Commission will hold the Lok Sabha polls in seven phases from April 19 across 543 constituencies.
Applicants keen on participating in CUET-UG have until March 26 to complete their registration process.
The standardized test, therefore, paves the way for standard admission to an array of universities that range from central to state, deemed to private institutions located in different corners of the country.
Apart from conventional examinations, NTA has introduced a new mixed format for CUET-UG 2024: Computer-Based Tests and Pen and Paper tests for subjects.
It is indicated that examination subjects for which the number of registrants is more significant will be tested by pen-and-paper and optical mark recognition (OMR) methods, with the rest continuing in computer-based testing.
It was announced to CUET-UG in the previous session that they had received about 14.9 lakh candidates whose role is increasingly prominent in shaping the educational framework in India.
