Conduct MPSC Exams Soon – Demanded by Aspirants
The State Competitive Examination Coordination Committee has formally contacted Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar to express concerns over the scheduling conflicts between the Social Welfare Department Exam 2023 and the State Services Pre-Exam 2024.
In a letter sent on Monday, the committee highlighted the current engagement of state government resources and personnel in the General elections, which significantly restricts the availability of workforce needed to conduct these examinations.
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar responded, ensuring that the recruitment processes would be expedited once the elections conclude.
The postponement of these examinations has been labelled as ‘temporary’ in official communications from MPSC, which has sparked uncertainty and frustration among candidates. Many of them have been preparing for these competitive exams for years.

Rahul Pakhale, a prospective candidate, voiced the collective concern, emphasizing the urgency of increasing the number of state service seats and releasing new exam dates promptly.
He highlighted that about 1000 Class 1 posts should be filled by merging the 2023 and 2024 recruitment drives to maximize seat availability.
Additionally, he stressed the need for the early announcement of rescheduled dates for the postponed Social Welfare exam.
Mahesh Gharbude, Chairman of the Competitive Examination Coordination Committee, confirmed that the committee’s officials had met with Deputy Chief Minister Pawar to discuss these issues surrounding the MPSC and the broader scope of competitive examinations.
He noted, “Several statements have already been issued regarding this matter. Unfortunately, a planned meeting with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde was postponed as he did not return to Mumbai from Nagpur as expected yesterday. We are actively following up on the pending results and examinations under Direct Service Recruitment.”
This situation continues to develop as the State Competitive Examination Coordination Committee pushes for resolutions to ensure timely examination schedules for candidates.
